Roya Bahar has been an orthopedic surgeon at Rose Valley Hospital with her best friend, neurosurgeon Olivia James, for the past five years. They work together, eat together, and sometimes even have platonic sleepovers for no particular reason at all.

However, Roya recently realized she was into women—and even more recently, that she was in love with her very best friend. Tragically straight and out of her league, Roya seemingly has no chance with Olivia. So she tries to find love in all of the usual wrong places, leaving her lusting after Olivia more than ever before.
