When Radu arrives in Bucharest, he hopes to wash his hands of his vampire parents. Surely the capital has other vampire hunters to deal with them? Instead he and Frank throw themselves into the social life of Bucharest's nobility, coming to the attention of Ecaterina, the enchantress of Bucharest.

But monsters don't like to be ignored. Soon there is a new plague in the city, and Ecaterina's brother was seen attending his own funeral. Ecaterina is going to get to the bottom of this, and when she does, the people responsible are going to pay.
