Crown Princess Caitlin of Wales has always been a little odd, but when her heart is broken by her fiancee Prince Valto of Finland, the feisty and opinionated Cat becomes a recluse. Hiding herself away in her private residence of Carreg Cannen, she only ever emerges to visit her two lovers: the much older King of Moldova, and the Crown Prince of Germany. However as her coronation nears pressure is placed on Cat to wed, and so she requests that her step-mother the Lady Lowri find her a husband.

Valto has spent the past six years in either disastrous relationships or alone. His love for the beautiful and outspoken Cat has marred every other romantic entanglement that he finds himself a part of. So when he discovers that not only did Cat not betray him all those years ago like he has always believed, but that she's on the market for a husband he sees it as his second chance.

Can Cat look past her own bitterness and find it in herself to love the man that broke her heart six years ago? And can Valto redeem himself before he loses the only woman he has ever loved?
