Vic Malloy returns in "Lay Her among the Lilies" to investigate the blackmailer of Maureen Crosby, having been retained by her sister Janet who died young of heart failure, but not before sending Vic a note and a retainer. As he start is inquiries, Malloy can’t go past Maureen’s nurse, and when he tries to contact Janet’s maid finds her dead. Then the nurse disappears, he is fired upon, kidnapped, incarcerated in a high security asylum, and has no choice but to get to the bottom of the affair.
