Set in a typical middle class suburb, this is a story of love, tragedy and coming-of-age which speaks to universal experiences. It follows the Munros and the Ferrucios, two families facing the loss of their children - in struggles with alcohol abuse, and in real military danger. It follows Dave Adkins, suddenly cast into unemployment and alcoholic depression. Post-traumatic stress affects the story’s characters in many ways–yet with strength and determination they still manage to celebrate the triumphs and find happiness amidst adversity.
