Death at Dunsmore Hall

In the seemingly tranquil town of Woodlawn, Grace “Gracie” Phillips, a bookstore owner, is drawn into a murder investigation when Margaret Bower, the most despised resident, meets an untimely death. As Gracie delves deeper into the case, she uncovers a web of motives and secrets among the townspeople, including a struggling family, a local baker, and her own nephew. Her nosing stirs up tensions with Detective John Donne, and when another witness turns up dead, Gracie realizes she’s uncovered something bigger than just an isolated incident. In a climactic confrontation at the annual Woodlawn Founders’ Day festival, Gracie exposes a sinister conspiracy behind Margaret’s murder, revealing that even in idyllic places, greed, resentment, and opportunity can fatally coincide. Ultimately, justice is served, but not without changes in Gracie’s perception of her community and a newfound appreciation for amateur sleuthing with her faithful companion Redford.
