Humanity has colonized the Milky Way and is now ruled with an iron fist by

Empress Victoria X. First contact with an alien race did not go peacefully and the

empire is embroiled in all-out war with the Seisossa, a lizard-like species with a

taste for human flesh. Nevertheless, the brave men and women of the imperial

army are standing firm against the alien aggressors. One of them is Captain John

James Johnson, who is never far from the front. No mission is too dangerous,

and he doesn’t even know the meaning of the word “impossible.” He bravely

leads his people into brutal battle.

The empress is aware of both his skills and his loyalty. The situation at court is

becoming ever more acute and the empress doesn’t know who she can trust. She

needs somebody at her side, somebody she can trust with her life, and who

better than Captain John James Johnson?

Unknown to humanity, or to any other species, there are other powers in the

universe. These powers have been guiding humanity’s fate from the earliest

times, but one thing isn’t yet clear: are these powers benign, or do they have

their own secret plans?
