Faced with extinction, scientists pushed the boundaries of genetic engineering to develop the purest of humans. Unfortunately, they succeeded. The privileged minority have bought the right to be selected for Provenance and passage to the new world. The descendents of those unable to afford genetic purification look to the heavens, their mortality guaranteed by the approaching comet. They are the Drones, the neglected majority and the founding members of the Resistance.

It is 2119 and decades of war has created a society devoid of compassion. Eugenics has reached its zenith, the one million elite of Continuity await their selection to Provenance, the Drones await salvation by the Resistance. Both have been deceived.

Masked by the shadow of fear, a new species of human plots to take control of Provenance and enslave those deemed inferior.

Steve is aware his illicit love for a Drone conflicts with his duty to protect Continuity. What he doesn't know is that he is the key to humanity's salvation. Those aware of his latent abilities will stop at nothing to protect him, for now. Everyone else will try to kill him.

Entangled in a web of deceit and burdened with the death of his younger brother, the only constant in Steve's life has been the camaraderie of his close-knit unit, where friendships are forged in the deadly world of counter-terrorism. A world where those closest to you are your enemy's most potent weapon.

Provenance I - Flee The Bonds is an action-driven sci-fi thriller set in a militaristic dystopia that will appeal to a wide adult audience. Although written primarily for entertainment, the story's characters raise questions that could be relevant in a near-future world.
