[Angel 02] • A Hunt Among Vampires

Being half angel and half vampire is becoming more challenging as Jessica’s angelic powers continue to surface unexpectedly. Grudgingly, she must rely on an over 1500 year old, French vampire named Christien, to teach her control of her strong, fluctuating vampire powers, despite her reluctance to spend more time with him. Christien is more than willing to help her learn the things she should have learned from her sire as a fledgling. It also gives him a legitimate reason to keep her close to him. With her powers growing stronger daily, the ice she has built around her heart begin to thaw as she spends more time around Christien.

Disappointed about being unable to find any leads on Hassan after discovering his lair, Christien sends his deuxième or second in command, Kayle, and Jessica's best friend and fellow mercenary, Roman, on separate missions to flush out Hassan. While Kayle and Roman are searching for Hassan, Christien and Jessica work together to help him secure a more permanent position for him and his vampires in Phoenix.

The search for Hassan becomes urgent when a representative from the Vampire Council knocks on Christien’s door, giving him less than six weeks to answer their summons or obtain the label of a rogue vampire, which is usually a death sentence, according to vampire law.
