HENRYK ADAM ALEKSANDER PIUS SIENKIEWICZ [1846-1916], also known as "Litwos", was a Polish journalist and novelist. He is best known for Quo Vadis, whch has been filmed several times, and his historical novels set during the Rzeczpospolita (Polish Republic). In 1905, he received the Nobel Prize in Literature for his "outstanding merits as an epic writer."
