Shaun is in love with a man, who happens to be a female performer. Now someone wants to mess up Shaun's life.
Up until he saw Rava, Shaun thought he was straight. It’s a system shock, but Shaun can’t resist the glamorous drag artist. However, not all of his friends are happy about this new relationship and his change of status. Was he gay all along and in denial? Or is he in denial about Rava’s sexuality? Whatever the case, there’s no going back now.
On The Downlow was originally published by loveyoudivine Alterotica.

Club Pasha was packed with chic, fashionable hipsters and trendsetters. The five men fitted very comfortably into their surroundings. Even in this crowd they caught the eye of anyone with a pulse. They headed up the stairs to the cabaret room which was isolated by thick, soundproof glass. A large, well-dressed bouncer with shaved head and bulky with muscle showed them to a table by the stage.
“Aw man I thought we we’re gonna dance and pick up some hotties. I don’t wanna be ‘entertained’. Not this way.” Steven pouted.
“Jeez man a real guy would make the best of any situation and could find a hottie anywhere. There’s someone here I want ya’ll to check out.” Lil Tee was calm, he knew what he was doing.
The guys knew he was always good for a fun time. Even if sometimes it wasn’t that obvious what the ‘fun’ was to be.
The lights went down and the stage lights went up. Then the music started. Opening with a driving piano beat introducing Jennifer Hudson’s “No one’s gonna love you”. Then the lights got brighter and the stage revolved revealing a ravishing Jennifer Hudson look-alike. Not lip synching but her voice was pitch perfect and her looks were pure goddess. The boys were enchanted but Shaun was immediately captivated.
Steven leaned in and whispered to Shaun. “Hold on dude. She’s not real. She isn’t the real Jennifer Hudson!”
Shaun’s eyes narrowed and he glanced at Steven for just a second before focusing his attention back on ‘Jennifer Hudson’. “Damn she fine!” To Shaun she was a black Jessica Rabbit, all curves and hot sexuality.
“Hey man, remember what you see ain’t necessarily what you get!” Steven was insistent. He knew when Shaun got ‘that’ look in his eye there was no interfering in his intention to get what he wanted. And right now it seemed Shaun ‘wanted’ this singing diva. Steven ordered them all another round of drinks hoping to distract Shaun from the performance on the stage.
It was another 45 minutes before the MC took to the stage. “Wow what a performance!” He tried to talk above the applause and cheers that the Jennifer Hudson look alike was getting. She was very popular.
And then Shaun leapt to his feet even as his buddies tried to pull him back into his seat.
“Let’s put your hands together louder for Rava!”
The applause got louder as Rava took a bow and exited off the stage. Shaun put his drink down and headed backstage before his boys could pull him back.
“Hey man where you goin’?” Marvin asked. He had also been wrapped up in Rava’s performance, but he wasn’t about to admit that he was attracted to a drag queen, not in front of his homies!
Shaun had no such qualms as Marvin tugged at him.
“Yo man, she’s a drag queen!” He whispered loudly.
Shaun pulled away from Marvin. “Yeah? and...?” he headed back stage.
