Episode 2 of Ascendant sees Michael Cairne entering "the Eastlands," a war-torn, post-nuclear landscape where only the hardiest survive. He will meet allies, enemies, and a girl named Arielle Casmas - an "empath" with the ability to heal emotional wounds.

As he trains in secret, guided by Louis Blake - his dying mentor, who struggles with demons of his own - Michael will uncover a conspiracy in the former ghost town known as Gulch. The town harbors a dark secret involving kidnapping, slavery, and the hidden agenda of the town's mayor, John Meacham.

This knowledge will force him on a dangerous rescue mission further east, to a Romanesque slave town known as Praetoria, where Michael will go from being the hunter to the hunted...
