Isabelle was the party girl. Even her sisters worried about her. Whenever she had rough patch, she hit the bars and parties in a big way. Lately, though, she has seemed really down. She won't talk to anyone about what could be bothering her, but instead has withdrawn from everyone and everything. How could she explain to them what she didn't understand herself? For years she'd been comparing any boy she dated against Alex, the object of her teenaged fantasies, a man she'd had a crush on for years, but who had moved across an ocean. They still kept in touch through email, but lately, she was even pulling away from him.

And then, suddenly, there he was! She was supposed to meet her girlfriend Elena and her fiancé at a restaurant one night, but Alex – Elena's older brother – was there, too. He had returned form the United States and was now working at a hospital in London. Her heart wanted to believe that things could work out between them, but her brain knew that her feelings for him had all been one-sided. Or had they?

Alex had had feelings for Isabelle as far back as he could remember, but he knew he had to let her grow up. It had been painful moving so far away. He was back now, to see if their youthful attraction could mature into something more… but first, she was going to have to learn that he meant what he said, and would back up those words with a firm hand if she continued her reckless, self-destructive behavior!
