The Hesperian Dilemma

Maura is an oceanographer who hoped to find life under the ice on Europa. But she didn’t expect to discover an alien society with paranormal powers; nor that the colonists from Earth would try to destroy it. She teams up with a computer scientist called Geoff to save the aliens from extermination—a mission which threatens to tear apart both their relationship and their home planet. The novel is a fast-moving story that begins in the year 2135 when the Earth is on the verge of war. The depiction of the world and the universe at that time is a credible extrapolation of known science. The Hesperian Dilemma is an adventure and love story, but it also asks a question. Is technology killing us?
