The Reluctant Bridesmaid

Rancher George Connelly is used to people doing exactly what he says, and he is more than annoyed when his younger daughter, Susie, is planning to be married, and her older sister refuses to come right on home for the wedding. George is convinced that Sarah Jean is jealous of her younger sister, and he hires a detective, Dan Drennan, to go after his headstrong daughter and bring her home, hogtied and gagged if necessary. He doesn’t want his Susie’s wedding spoiled! Dan is surprised when he meets the lovely Sarah Jean. She isn’t the spoiled brat that he thought she would be, but a loving, sensitive young woman. Dan learns that it is really Susie that is conniving and jealous, and trying to put Sarah Jean through hell by marrying first and taunting her for not having a boyfriend. Dan talks Sarah Jean into allowing him to take her home, promising he will personally put Susan over his knee if she says or does one thing to deliberately upset Sarah Jean. And, just perhaps, Susan will learn a thing or two about tormenting her older sister.

Caleb, Susie’s fiancé, is clearly shocked when he discovers a cruel side to his fiancée, but he decides it would be best to wait until they marry to firmly lay down the law, but in view of her father’s actions in hiring the detective to force Sarah Jean to come home, Cal determines that allowing Susie to behave like a brat would be detrimental to their future together. He puts her over his knee until she promises to behave, but will she? And what will George have to say when Caleb tells him to stop spoiling the little blonde and letting her have her way all the time?
