Arthur is forced to begin a new life in a foreign land with nothing. His family is shattered into the wind. His army, long since decimated, his empire, lost. And now, even his name has been taken from him.

Nothing he seems to plan works in his favor as alliances made are broken, and what remains are the friends he makes along the way. They stand up for him, they put their lives on the line for him, and they look up to the even-handed manner of accomplishing worthy goals.

Arthur gradually begins to learn of his true heritage and his relationship to Merlin. The two begin to form a bond that goes beyond mutual benefit. The foundation of a new Britannia lies in the bedrock of this new kinship between the man who can conjure magic and the man who can forge alliances.
