My Name Is River Blue

While awaiting his trial on a charge of first-degree murder, twenty-year old River Blue begins writing the incredible story of his life. As a foster boy, his first thirteen years are scarred with incidents of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. When he is only eleven years old, the lie of a prominent family results in his confinement for two years in a violent juvenile prison where a corrupt guard forces boys to fight for their survival.

When River is sent to a group home for boys on parole and probation, his luck changes, and he finds himself surrounded by people who care. One of them helps him discover that he is a gifted athlete with a chance to win an athletic scholarship to college. By the time he's a high school senior, he finally believes he can have a good future to share with his new family, his friends, and the girl he loves.
