He had failed her, and now Haley was dead because of it. In order to cope, Cade has thrown himself wholly into his job as XO of the Pirate Vessel Reaper. He has become a known menace among the Allied Colonies, and somewhat of a hero among the people of Clew Station. To repair the damage done to their home by the Deshi three years ago, all pirate crews are pushing themselves to the brink of exhaustion in the hunt for the supplies their people need. Times are hard, but when a mysterious enemy begins harassing their efforts, Cade’s world is twisted from hardship into a fiery nightmare.
