The Cold Ones

Not all Quests are created equal. Some are to rescue the fair maiden. Others to slay the dragon, hunt the demon, or to free a village from the clutches of an evil Linguist warlock. They might call upon the mettle of men, to dig deep within and discover what your soul is truly made of - to fight on, even when you've nothing left to give.

The fabled Lord Vandyr Kaide has sent a call to every able-bodied warrior within House Vinganz Province, to pick up arms and join what has been labeled as 'The Quest' - one that will challenge even the deadliest of killers. For skill alone will not guide you through the Quest, no! Killers are as common as grains of sand upon the Last Oasis. But what Lord Kaide searches for is something different. The creation of a cohort, a brotherhood of specialized military men, one where men of all stature - both high and lowborn - can work together as equals in a flawless killing machine.

To pass this grueling test of might, both body and spirit, one must be willing to serve, lead, follow, communicate, and - when called upon - kill. One must be willing to cast off prejudices of nobility and sacrifice oneself for the mission and for the brother standing beside you. Many try, yet the weak fall by the wayside.

And only the strong shall stand as Cold Ones.
