Mason is a successful, middle aged, gay man with the good fortune to retire early. He traveled the world with his now deceased partner, Temo. But there was one trip he never took, a pilgrimage to the city that gave birth to the music of his youth.

On his way by Amtrak to Detroit, otherwise known as “Motown,” he can hardly wait to celebrate the music of Smokey Robinson, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, and others at the Motown Anniversary Celebration, a concert and street festival promising to be the Mardi Gras of Motown.

When the train stops in Witchita, a handsome and hunky young passenger named Rob boards. Though the two initially clash, Mason comes to learn Rob is going to Detroit to attend to his father’s affairs after an untimely death.

Can Mason reach past the brashness of Rob’s youth to connect with the kindred spirit inside? Or will they go their separate ways when they reach Motown?
