The first book in this popular family life series, Sally is a thirty something single woman - still reeling from the recent death of her father - who travels from Wisconsin in the USA to Aviemore in Scotland, for a long-overdue visit with her Scottish friends Tom and Elizabeth over the Christmas season.

Travelling up to the romantic village of Aviemore , deep in the heart of the Scottish highlands, she has an accident in a snowstorm when she swerves to avoid a Stag on the road.

She is pulled from her car by a handsome young Forester, and taken to recover at his beautiful Log Cabin on the shores of Loch Morlich.

Romance blossoms between the two, as they discover love in the midst of their shared grief; both realising that they have been running away from the events of the past.

Tragic circumstances however threatens this tender relationship, as Sally finds out that Robert is about to lose the house he was raised in, leaving him and his mother homeless and destitute.
