Endeavor returns through the conduit to find Polisia under attack from the forces of the Human Suppression Syndicate. After the battle, Jesse finally sits down with his family and learns about everything that has happened in his absence. Now, because of the threat Jesse and his family pose to the Coalition's new leadership, Polisia is targeted for destruction once again. In order to bring about a peaceful solution to Polisia's problems with the Coalition and the Enclave, Jesse goes to Earth on a diplomatic mission to seek help from his friend, Admiral Bliney.

Following his disastrous mission to Earth, Jesse is injured and his confidence shaken. Now, he must recover both mentally and physically in time to rally Polisia's defenders for a final battle with the galaxy arrayed against them.
