[Jupiter's Glory 02] • The Pirates and the Priests

Lovers and adventurers Iris Arowana and Gordon Hawthorn are hiding from their pasts. In their stolen sword-ship, Jupiter’s Glory, they travel from world to world in the Jupiter system, taking survival one day at a time.

Having rescued some joyriding youths from a gang of space pirates, Arowana and Hawthorn are invited to dinner in gratitude. Landing on the small moon Themisto, they are confronted by the priests who call the moon their home. So tiny is their world, the entire moon is of one religion. Cut off from the rest of the solar system, the men of Themisto have become insane zealots, while the women keep society running.

When the Glory’s doctor, Wraith, is arrested for spying, Arowana and Hawthorn are told the only way they can save him from crucifixion is to deal with the pirate menace once and for all.

But there are other souls who need saving, not the least of which is young Bethany Hart, kidnapped by the pirates and brutalised through two years of torment and abuse. Their only hope is to deal with the pirates in time, before the Church of Themisto surrenders their friend to divine judgement.
