Meet Alison Meyers. A green journalist out on the road covering the fast-paced, action-packed, restaurant beat. (Double Yawn.)

But when they get together and go adventuring, we add a softball sized emerald, a hillbilly with a shotgun and some hunting dogs, a restauranteur with a penchant for pot-laced foods, and a shady gem fence with a gun of his own.

Can Jack and Alison find a way to escape the clutches of the gem thieves, get their emerald back, and land the Hidden Gems article that Alison hopes will propel her out of the green beat at the paper? Oh, and also stay alive?
