Summer of My Sophomore Year

If you ask anyone in town, Cassie McCarthy is pretty strange: she lives in a barn, she’s never had a boyfriend, and she was born at her mother’s funeral. Despite all this she finds her own life tragically boring, that is, until the summer of her sophomore year. Determined to find out more about the mystery that is her mother, Cassie embarks on an emotional journey as she travels alone to New York City to spend three weeks with a woman she’s never met, in a city she’s never been to, with the courage she never knew she had. But will her courage last long enough to survive a hot summer in the big city? One filled with family secrets, self-discovery and first love? This could easily be the best, or the worst, summer of her life.
