When everyone has a secret, it's hard to know what's real.

Dai Han has spent most of his adult life living in a cloistered secret society, learning to become a warrior who doesn't need love. When the surprising sudden need to surround himself with family causes him to alter his life plans, the need for love isn't far behind.

Carrie leaves America for a job in Japan to get over the betrayal of her fiancée. She has no wish to give her heart to another man. When she meets Dai Han she considers him a pleasant diversion. When she helps him uncover secret after secret they both discover that they too have been hiding.
