REVIEWS: (previously published as Allan Westerfield: Off-World)
"When Lan Darr needs a hero, someone to rid their world of the monster Jibbawk, an unlikely child amid all the creatures of the land must step up to the challenge. If Atlas's descriptions of the creatures Allan meets in Lan Darr don't leap off the page as if you're meeting them yourself, then his dazzling illustrations throughout the novel certainly will. Indeed, it's difficult to know which talent to admire more: the writing or the artwork. Ultimately, Off-World is a fantasy tour de force, a harrowing Alice in Wonderland. Allan and Rubic are marvelous characters, and Atlas' plot is well-crafted, original and imaginative. I'm looking forward to the next Allan Westerfield adventure. Allan Westerfield Off-World: Allan Westerfield Series, Book 1 is highly recommended" Readers Favorite.
"This book easily received 5 stars from me. I have read a lot of survival stories and science-fiction, and this is by far one of the best because of originality. This was the first book I've read where the main character - Allan Westerfield - is a paraplegic teen .I was on the edge of my seat as Allan works his way through figuring out this new adventure he has encountered. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but my favorite part was when Allan met the "balloon-like creature." Reviewed by Jori at Kissed by Literature
"Allan Westerfield is riveting and an extraordinary tale of courage and adventure. The chapters flow easily from one to another, creating a nice narrative that is gripping from start to finish. I also have to comment Atlas' command of the language because he was able to paint a very vivid world" Review by Victoria at Book Beast
