A Witch's Tale

An evil force is threatening the coastal town of Port Bellmont... evil and devious. In order to fulfill his promise to bring the town to his master, this follower of the Prince of Darkness commits a particularly heinous crime, casting the shadow of guilt upon the High Priestess of a local Wiccan coven. Desperate to prove her mother's innocence, Cassie Adams turns for assistance to a most unlikely candidate, Mac McCormick. Mac had once been a world famous reporter, but a weakness for "boiler makers" has taken its toll, reducing him to writing for The Inquisitor, the sleaziest of all tabloids.

Mac has managed to conquer the habit which robbed him of his professional reputation. He is now working with the resolve he needed to give up his destructive lifestyle to regain the place in his profession he had once taken for granted. When Cassie offers him an exclusive on her mother's story in exchange for his help, he readily accepts her offer.

Although Cassie's and Mac's motives for wanting to solve the murder differ, they end up sharing something neither had bargained for - a love too powerful to deny.
