The epic struggle between Nathan the Israelite and Achish the Philistine continues. The two must now pick up the pieces of their dreams in the aftermath of the devastating Battle of Michmash. Ironically, both have achieved important goals, only to face greater perils as a result.

Nathan has helped preserve the fragile Kingdom of Israel only to face the threat of a civil war between the insecure King Saul and the impulsive Prince Jonathan. Achish emerges from the Battle of Michmash as a king, but with a shattered army. He must rebuild Gath’s military and unravel the conspiracy behind his Father’s murder before the other Philistine Kings take advantage of his Kingdom’s weakness. For now, Achish must make enemies feel like old friends. His army will be made to appear strong, but not threatening. His plans for Israel set aside, but not forgotten.

Both Nathan and Achish prepare carefully for the future rounds of their great game. However, everyone forgets that God is not hesitant to clear all the pieces off the board and start over.
