First among them was silver for the deepest, strongest mysteries; Blue for wisdom of sky and water, the unknown, hidden world within; Green for the earth and all that lives and flourishes there; Red for the fire and the deep places of the earth; Black for the knowing, the sharing and the keeping beyond. Megwin, daughter of Remwith, became one of the Mantles' pupils. In the college of the Mantles, she would learn their secrets, but Megwin was little more than a child and there were many distractions to keep her from her studies, including Prince Ardin. Would she be strong enough to take up the Mantles' challenge and would she be ready to face a greater adversary than any of them had imagined?
