Astounded by discovering four intelligent alien races within a short four-year span in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy, Humans and their Generations Starship Colossus had achieved what no one really thought was possible. Colossus and her crew had been very fortunate or it was just plain good luck? If was luck, then it was about to change when they crossed paths with a fifth intelligent race that turned out to be their first real threat while exploring the Milky Way. That threat was an alien race of insectoids known as the HIVE. The Hive's only purpose is to conquer worlds and use those conquered as slave labor and eventually as a source of food.
