Janet was on her death bed. In sixty-nine years she had accomplished nothing with her life...merely existed. Now her time was up. Her fondest wish was a do over where she would matter to someone...make a difference in their life. So when a wraith appeared and offered her a second chance at life in the twelfth century she accepted with no regrets. Even though the wraith insisted on calling her Seonaid.

Diedre was a Fae Princess and Janet's half-sister. It was her fault that Janet spent a lifetime in the twenty-first century. She had placed her there as an infant because of her jealousy over her father's affections. Now he was asking for his second daughter. Diedre had to correct her error before her father discovered the deed and made her mortal as a punishment. It did not help that her betrothed, Lokai, was dogging her everywhere, either.

She figured that she could kill two birds with one stone if she brought Janet back and arranged for her to wed Garrick Brodie, who had scorned her advances when she wished to honor him with her virginity, simply because she was Fae. How dare he snub her!

Laird Brodie, the last of the Ancients, was on a bride search when he stumbled across Janet, injured and surrounded by wolves. Rescuing her... he found, over time, that they were so drawn to each other that they could hear the other one's thoughts. It was quite disconcerting. After wedding her, he discovered that she was the daughter of the man responsible for his father's death. Could he accept it? Then he finds that she is Fae. He didn't trust the Fae, especially after waking to find one in his bed!

Malcolm, Garrick's second in command, was actually Athor, Lokai's father...and quite mad. He desired the throne in the Fae Realm but must kill Garrick and his bride to acquire the Spear of Destiny. It was the only weapon that could kill an immortal. And the king must die if he wanted the throne.

Will Diedre be punished for her crimes against her sister with mortality? Can Garrick overlook Seonaid's ancestry...or will he set her aside? Will Athor succeed in his quest for the Fae throne? And what of Lokai? Will he support his mad father...Diedre...or his king?
