Dana is a young girl living in the aftermath of a global crisis that nearly wiped out the entire human race. No one knows what happened exactly. The climate became chaotic, wars broke out, governments fell and a mysterious disease spread through the land like a hellish plague, turning people into monsters. Now, there's no more television, no more phones, no laws or police... some would go as far as to say there's no more hope. For all Dana knows, she could quite possibly be living in the last remaining human town in the world. And to make matters worse, her father disappeared on a hunting trip never to be seen again. With a baby brother to provide for, she doesn't have the luxury of just giving up. As her eighteenth birthday approaches, not only must she find her place in this crazy world, but also earn her place as an adult within the community. Thankfully, she is not entirely alone in her struggle. Love and friendship will play an important role in her growth, but will it be enough to guarantee her survival? As Dana sits down to write her own chronicle, she knows all too well that nothing is certain in the broken world of the Dead End Journal.
