She may be as tough as dragon scales and recently ascended to the status of Queen, but that doesn't mean Najika's hardships are over. Her diplomatic tour of the other Kingdoms ends abruptly when someone tries to have her assassinated. Not fully healed and still struggling to accept her husband's unwitting role in the attack, Najika forms an unusual bond with Linn, a foreigner.

When Najika discovers that the attempt on her life may not be as straightforward as it seemed, she plunges ahead to decode the mystery with Linn's help. As their friendship deepens with each obstacle or clue discovered, Linn and Najika sense that there are more complicated plans at work. Plans which seem destined to reach fruition unless Najika and Linn can do the impossible.
