The fourth book in the Death Prophecies finds Humanity struggling to determine how to handle the increasing number of aggressive civilizations bent on its destruction. The Good old days of just having the Traugh to deal with are gone and the four new threats make the Traugh look like a picnic in the park. It all starts with a brilliant Cadet at the Academy revealing that the time the Senior Admirals thought they had to build the weapons they would need against the coming threats isn’t there. The Builders and Black Fleets will be arriving far faster than anticipated and Earth’s Fleets are not prepared to meet them. And if that’s not enough, finding out that friends can be your worse enemy complicates the situation to the point where Earth’s Military is frozen and unable to do anything.

The only chance of survival is to revert back to hiding from Earth’s enemies and work against time to develop the weapons that can give humans a chance against the more advanced aggressors moving toward the the Milky Way. To make matters worse, Earth’s best Admiral is forced to deal with a loss he never saw coming and appears not to up to the task of leading mankind out of the darkness facing it. The twists and turns will keep you guessing and the action doesn’t slow down.

Excerpt: No Technology is Invincible

“Gabe, I don’t have much time. The Darkness towers have arrived and are closing the black hole as I’m recording this message. I’ve included a recording of the conversation that Admiral Connor had with Levi and that will clarify what’s going on. We’ve been ordered away from the black hole. You are in my prayers and I’m so sorry.”

Gabe listened to the message and looked at Gabby, “Put Admiral Connor’s conversation on the main monitor.” He leaned back and listened to what was said and after it ended he leaned back in his chair and started tapping his foot.

Gabby looked at him, “We’re trapped here.”

Ali shrugged, “I must say that you military types lead a very exciting life.”

Gabby looked at him, “You’re trapped here as well!”

Ali shrugged and Gabe looked at them, “Admiral Connor had no choice but to back off.”

Gabby was clearly upset, “WHY?!”

Gabe pointed at the plaque over the main monitor, “Death Prophecy number one says that no enemy should be confronted until it is absolutely unavoidable. He had to consider the risk to millions of our warships against the loss of a single ship…ours.”

“YOU COULD AT LEAST PRETEND YOU’RE ANGRY!”

“I’m furious more than you can guess, Gabby, but I would have done the same thing if I were in his place. However, we are going to complete our mission.”

“Why?”

“Because that’s our purpose in being here. We’re just not going to have the support of our fleets to protect us. Poul, we no longer have a time restriction on doing this. The black hole is closed so let’s think about our situation. Are you sure you thought of every possible place where one of your ancient warships might be located?”
