Martin Greenberg has assembled here stories about space travel and space travelers. Dating from 1938-1949, the stories are by Keith Bennett; Christopher Youd; F. A. Kummer, Jr.; Harry Walton; Ray Bradbury; Lyle Monroe; Hal Clement; William Tenn; P. Schuyler Miller; Fredric Brown; Robertson Osborne; A. E. van Vogt; Poul Anderson; and H. B. Fyfe. There is a section of full-color illustrations of alien life forms by Edd Cartier with an accompanying story by David Kyle. Rocket scientist Willy Ley wrote the introduction and Samuel Anthony Peebles the preface to the included Science Fiction Dictionary, 13 pages of definitions of terms not well known at the time.
