Halloween has come early to Mandrake Falls.

Shelby Porter doesn't like Sheriff Sawyer McIntyre and everyone in town knows it. Sawyer's brother knows it, his ex-fiancee knows it, even Darlene at the Beauty Box knows it.The only person in town who is oblivious to their feud is Dolly Porter, Shelby and Sawyer's much-loved, daffy aunt. Dolly's health hasn't been good of late. She worries too much, fretting over Shelby's single status.So one night, to ease her mind, Shelby tells a little white lie.

Twisted by misunderstanding, it morphs into a whopper and Shelby Porter is standing in Sheriff McIntyre's bedroom at three o'clock in the morning with a teeny request: "Lie for me."

And that's when things get really scary.

Shelby has to find a way out of the fake romance even as Dolly recruits the whole town into planning a fall wedding. And then there's Sawyer.It turns out ... lurking under Sawyer's animosity all these years is a man she's never met.
