Britain still quakes from the decisive battle in A Blink of an Eye. The tremors of which released a new evil. One out to wreak havoc on Dark Ages Britain.

Mair’s skills with her sword may not be enough to protect friends, new and old, with the threat even she doesn’t have experience with. But first, they have to find a creature that doesn’t want to be tracked.

Courtly politics and friendly alliances pull Mair into Mercia. She quickly finds herself in the middle of a new storm of death and destruction. The worst threat may be Mercian intrigue which could reveal her secrets if she’s not forced into that herself.
