On the night of a tragedy, I had the first dream. Then a second one, the night before I transfer schools with the intent of clinging onto every sense of normalcy my family and I had wanted for myself. After the third dream, I begin to wonder if there’s something more to them. That maybe, just maybe, there really is a token of some kind that I’m supposed to receive that will give me my claim to a throne in another dimension. That perhaps these dreams aren’t actually dreams. But I’d like to have my doubts, because if I accept the existence of the token then that would mean there’s a duo of power-hungry royals who are out for my blood.

My name is Iris Hanes, and I would prefer to think I’m your average high school senior with the additional perk of Supernatural healing. I had plans for my future. I wanted to finish my last year of high school without any problems, graduate from a prestigious medical school, and become a doctor like my dad. Apparently though, Fate has a higher calling for me. One that I can’t choose to ignore when Supernatural occurrences begin to affect my almost normal life despite my efforts to ignore them. Ignorance is bliss after all. Not this time. This time, ignorance is dangerous.

There are other powerful Supernatural out there, each with their own motives, moving pieces on a board in a game that I haven’t gotten the first clue how to play. I have no choice but to join them or get killed in the cross-hairs. I have no choice but to fight and win because my future has already been forged by Fate.

“What if I can’t stop Valencia?” I find myself asking.

“Then the Dimension of Aurum will cease to exist, and you along with it.” The Prophet answered.
