Dog Boy

Romochka is alone in the cold tenement.

He has eaten everything he can find. He has waited for his uncle for days. He is four years old, he is cold and hungry, and he knows he has to leave home.

Out on the freezing street, Romochka sees a large, yellow dog lope past. He follows her to a lair in a derelict part of the sprawling city. There, in the rich smelly darkness, in the rub of hair, claws and teeth, he joins four puppies suckling at their mother's teats.

As seasons pass, Romochka changes from a boy into something wilder. He learns to attack enemies with tooth and claw, and understand the strict pack code.

But when he begins to hunt in the city it is only a matter of time before the authorities take an interest...
