What is old age like? This simple question requires, however, profound and well-thought answers. In our society, a series of cultural prejudices prevent direct contact with the topic of old age, as hidden by fear of the unknown and the fantasy of death. With the aim of providing the necessary scientific knowledge for a proper understanding of the topic, Dr. Salvarezza requested the contributions of a group of fifteen researchers in the field of gerontology at domestic and world levels, who bring their point of view on the state of international research on old age from a theoretical perspective.
