This good girl can’t help but go after the alluring, unpredictable man who is just passing through town . . .
Is it possible that the gorgeous guy across the street is actually staring at her? Ellen Webster can hardly believe it; she thinks she’s far too ordinary to attract the attention of a handsome, edgy man like Jonah Blake. Yet he continues to stare.
Ellen has always been unfailingly kind to others, and on this particular day it has cost her a parking spot and her place in line at the deli. On top of it all, she is about to be passed up for a promotion she rightfully deserves. She has reached her wits end, and with the aid of a small volume of helpful go-getter hints, Ellen sets her sights on what she wants, starting with the striking, dangerous Jonah. But this man is clouded in mystery, and may be more than Ellen bargained for.
This ebook features an extended biography of Mary Kay McComas.
From the Inside FlapCould a mysterious stranger tempt her to take a chance for a change?
Jonah Blake was a spy, they said, or maybe a war hero, or possibly he worked for the FBI, but Ellen Webster figured no guy that gorgeous could be gazing at her through the bank window! She'd always been too nice, too sweet to attract men who looked a bit dark and dangerous, but she wasn't letting this one get away. Could a little volume of helpful hints and a slinky dress transform her into a go-getter who'd finally get her man?
A writer who plays by her own delightful rules when it comes to creating heartwarming romance, Mary Kay McComas seduces and charms with this effervescent tale of lovers who need a little push in the right direction! Could a lady too nice for her own good steal the heart of a hero hiding just a few secrets?
About the AuthorI actually tell people I'm the luckiest person I know. It's true. It never fails to amaze me that the things that have gone wrong in my life always seem to work themselves out in a much better way than I had originally planned, and that the best things in my life have come when I've least expected them.
I was raised in the Great Pacific Northwest city of Spokane, Washington. Third of six children, I had terrific parents who taught me the value of time in the bathroom, how to laugh, and what it's like to be truly loved. I went to college, and for ten years after that I worked as an intensive care nurse in a hospital where I met most of my closest friends.
Then I met my future husband, a lawyer, Prince Charming in a great disguise. We moved to the Shenandoah Valley in northern Virginia, where I hung up my stethoscope and spent the next six years gestating. The results of which are Katie, Matt, Nick, and Ben.
After my four children came along I didn't think things could get any better. But guess what, they did! On a dare from my husband to "write a better novel than that," I took a stab at writing something longer than a letter and more fun than a college term paper.
I found writing therapeutic. Not only was it relaxing, but it was also a great way to escape from Mr. Rogers, Big Bird, and four short people who refused to speak English to me.
I didn't intend to start a third career as a writer. However, as my luck would have it, I was fortunate enough to find an encouraging agent and helpful, supportive editors. I hope my stories will bring a little happiness into your life--that would be the icing on the cake!
