Jamere has written a compelling book. He is from a far different background than me—African-American, the other side of the tracks, problems very different from mine—but he knows how to communicate. This book will make you think, push your limits, and give you the hope of a better spiritual life. I found a number of truths Jamere talks about to be very helpful in my own life, even as I edited the book. Rarely do I edit books that change my life, but this one did.

Jamere’s concentration on the power of the Holy Spirit in a committed Christian’s life was particularly searching and uplifting. His suggestion that most of us haven’t tapped into all God has for us made me want what he spoke about.

His section on going into the closet that Jesus spoke of in the Sermon on the Mount (see the part on prayer in Matthew 6) really hit me hard. I never thought much about that passage before, but Jamere pulled out of that some amazing truths. Don’t miss them. Those realities will change your prayer life and what it means to commune with the Lord of creation.

Next his thoughts on the three parts of the holy area of the Jewish Temple—the outer court, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies—is amazing. Jamere brought out things about these three parts of the Temple as three stages of a life committed to Christ. It thrilled me to read how an understanding of these would propel my life forward as a believer.

There are tough truths in this book, some you will never have heard before. Some will convict you deeply. And some will transform your life. The depth of Jamere’s understanding, though, will take you places never visited before and ultimately lived in. Read with an open, receiving mind. God will surely bless you.(less)
