What if a man believes he has murdered his brother during a confrontation in their office in the World Trade Center's North Tower, but all evidence is destroyed when the Tower collapses the following morning?
Around this germ of an idea is woven Murder in the North Tower, the story of the Bagdasarian brothers.
Aleks and Stepan Bagdasarian are 34-year-old twin brothers who own and operate a financial planning firm in Manhattan. Due to Aleks's risky investments in failing dot-com companies, the firm has fallen on hard times. Driven by greed and desperation, Aleks has begun laundering money for a Russian mobster. He is also having an affair with Stepan's wife Connie.
On the evening of September 10, 2001, Stepan catches the adulterous couple together in their office. Enrage and out of control, he attacks them. In the ensuing fight, Connie is killed and one brother believes he has killed the other brother. Unknown to the "murderer," however, his twin survives the assault and escapes from the North Tower before it is attacked and collapses. Suffering from amnesia, the injured brother is taken in and nursed back to health by Nadia Nicolescu, a restaurant owner and psychic, and her “Uncle” Griggor, a Romanian doctor with a sordid past and ties to New York City’s criminal underworld.
While one brother deals with the guilt of believing he has killed his twin and strives to make a new life post-9/11, the other brother convalesces in the care of Nadia and Griggor. Our story takes a series of intriguing twists and turns as it speeds to its thrilling climax: the dramatic reunion of the two brothers!
