This book contains lists of most illustrations from a period which is mostly the 1860s, critiques of most of those and the reprinting of several. This was the era where wood cuts was the majority of the reproduction method and probably at the height of it as an art form all of itself as the various methods of photography (the photographing of the drawings) were to begin greater and greater use.
