My country is in shambles.

Thanks to a band of domestic terrorists, an epidemic has spread its way from coast to coast, turning friends into enemies, spouses into threats and neighbors into snacks.

Now, it's up to me and fifteen other surly teenagers to escort our last hope of survival around the globe in order to contain this new terror.

Everyone on my team has a job. The King and Queen stay close to the back, guarding our ward. The Rooks, Bishops, and Knights all have the latest in modern weaponry, and they're ready to charge into battle if the need arises.

But the Pawns... the Pawns are on the front lines; our first line of defense. Our sacrificial lambs, so to speak.

But sometimes a lamb doesn't want to be sacrificed. Sometimes... a lamb is strong enough to survive the slaughter.
