Quest for Alexis

When Gail Fleming receives the startling news that her uncle, the noted Czech writer Alexis Karel, has vanished from Deer's Leap, his English home, she leaves her job in New York at once and flies across the Atlantic to be with her invalid aunt. But the mystery of Professor Karel's disappearance lures her on. The trail leads her from Majorca to Nice and to the Alps until at last she finds him. Is it the real Alexis Karel or an imposter?
