After discovering Sam's immunity to the virus, the survivors have a difficult decision to make: to continue on their journey of increasing their army and power, or to take Sam back to Utopia and its organisation of scientists.

They opt for both. Jordan returns Sam to the haven so they might make full use of his blood, but meets resistance in a form he could have never anticipated.

Meanwhile, Anne, Jessie and Tim continue on their journey across Asia, to grow their force to take on the Chinese overlords Fang and Wei. But the powerful do not get where they are by accident, and Fang takes matters into her own hands to deal with this powerful foreign young upstart.
