Hey, Lola—is that a knife in your skirt, or are you happy to see me?

Here’s how to craft up a stylish hands-free carryall for your concealed weapon of choice. The polar fleece sheath holds a blade five inches in length and can be sewn or constructed with a glue gun. A rhinestone strand and skull embellishments give the cozy a detailed, feminine touch. Made from sequined elastic, the garter stretches around your devilishly sexy upper thigh, keeping your little secret safely tucked away.

SUPPLIES

Heavyweight tracing paper

Straight pins

¼ yard polar fleece

Scissors

X-Acto knife

Hot glue gun

14-inch-long plastic rhinestone strand or other beading

7-inch-long piece decorative ribbon trim

2–inch-wide piece stretch sequined elastic approximately 22 inches in length, or enough to fit snugly around your thigh with a 1-inch overlap for seams

HOW TO

1. Copy the shiv cozy pattern onto heavyweight tracing paper and pin it to the polar fleece.

2. Using the template as a guide, cut out the front and back of the cozy.

3. Using an X-Acto knife, cut vertical slits where indicated on the back of the cozy.

4. Hot glue the rhinestone string or other decorative beading to the front panel of the cozy.

5. Using a 1/8-inch seam allowance, glue or sew the front and back pieces of the cozy together with the wrong sides of the fleece facing, leaving the top open.

6. Glue the decorative ribbon around the top of the cozy, overlapping in the back.

7. Pass the sequined garter through the back slits of the cozy as if through a belt loop.

8. Check the garter for snug fit before sewing the overlapping ends together. Open up the seam allowance and sew down the sides for a tailored look and extra durability.

9. Because it is made from polar fleece, the cozy isn’t recommended for everyday use; but it makes a stunning costume accessory, or it can carry less dangerous objects, such as lipstick, a cell phone, bail money, or pinking shears.
