There was a time when I was super focused on leaning out and lowering my body fat, and I think counting calories was very helpful for me then. It was more about gaining awareness of my eating habits. But since that brief period of counting calories, I’ve found other ways to improve my awareness and know exactly what I’m putting into my body, like preparing and cooking my own meals.

Failure is life’s best teacher. I think I’ve spent most of my life trying not to make mistakes, afraid of doing the “wrong thing.” I’m finally realizing there often isn’t a “wrong,” just many different paths and choices along the way. And even when you do make mistakes, those are the times you learn and grow the most—and they definitely make for the best life stories!
